This is a pair of combat boots I picked up at the good
will. They are leather which is a tough material, good for use with
spikes. Softer materials can be used, just be aware of how much holding
power it has for the number of spikes you want.
I used a needle to puncture the straps of
the boots. Then a pair of plyers to work the hold a little bit larger.
Finally I shoved the spike posts through and screwed in the spikes.
It's good to use a screwdriver to make sure they are nice and snug.
